Qingdao Double Star Eagles (CBA) is about to tab 33-year old USA ex-international swingman Tracy McGrady (203-101kg-79). McGrady played most recently at Atlanta Hawks in the NBA. In 58 NBA games last season he averaged 5.1ppg, 2.9rpg and 2.0apg. He was voted to All-NBA 3rd Team back in 2008. McGrady was a member of USA Senior National Team back in 2003. He has played previously professionally in NBA (Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors).

The Serbian/Cypriot Head coach Raca Dragan got an invitation for Dallas Maverics veteran camp and he will participate, in October 2013. Raca is the only Serbian/Cypriot Head Coach next season to coach in CBA (Chinese Basketball Association). During successful career Raca Dragan wan on the bench of Cypriot and Greek teams like AEL Limassol, Iraklis Thessaloniki, Deltalcon APOEL Nicosia, AEP Olimpias Patron, in Beirut Al Hekmeh and now in China.
One of the new teams in the Chinese summer league known as the NBL has signed long time NBA veteran Craig Smith, the skilled power forward who played with the Clippers, Minnesota, and most Portland.

China recorded the first win at the East Asian Championship that started tonight in Incheon, South Korea. They outgunned Hong Kong in Group B. Wang Zhelin (215-PF-94) delivered 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners.

They held Hong Kong to only 9 points in the first period and secured a 6-point advantage. Hong Kong however came back to life in the second frame. They dropped 25 points in the quarter to pull in front 34:31. China regained control after the big break. They notched 26 points in the third term to rally to a 57:49 lead at the final intermission. China finished off their opponents with a 27:10 spurt in the fourth stanza. Guo Ailun (192-SF-93) netted 14 points, while Zhao TaiLong (193-G/F-90) added 12 points for the winners. Lo Yi Ting (177-PG-87) responded with 19 points for Hong Kong. Liang Man Hung (173-G-86) chipped in 16 points in the loss.
