Liaoning Mens Basketball Club, despite recent claims, last season fulfilled there financial obligations to Carney Rodney (201-F-84, college: Memphis). The team clearly is one of of the more talented teams, roster wise, as they have arguably 2 of the top point guards in the league, as well as the top non-American big man. Under new ownership, the team looks to continue to build upon, what could be a strong campaign in the CBA.
The team is just 4 years removed from a CBA finals berth, so the team has the talent, and ability. This season they will be led by a new coach, and ownership will be in its 2nd full season, under a new gm, and staff, the team is poised for a run this season.

China finished East Asian Championship preliminary round on a high note. They knocked down Mongolia to advance into semifinal stage from the top position in Group B. China will now take on Japan in the semis. Mongolia will face Taiwan in the clash for the fifth overall position at the tournament and the ticket to the Fiba Asia Championship.

China went on a 30:9 rally in the third term to leave Mongolia behind. Six players scored in double digits for China as they cruised to the second straight win at the tournament. Guo Ailun (192-SF-93) netted 21 points for the winning team. Yanyuhang Ding (200-F-93) contributed 15 points, while Meng Da (196-F/G-82) added 14 points for China. Deigernyam Davaasambuu responded with 12 points for Mongolia. Battur Ganbold (185-F-87) chipped in 9 points in the loss.

Dallas Maverics is known for having international ties with international coaches and players . Raca Dragan is a recognised head coach not only in Europe but also in China where he is contining his career the last four years, currently being in Chongqing Fly Dragon and was a National team coach for Cyprus and Lebanon.
Raca is the only Serbian/Cypriot Head Coach next season to coach in CBA (Chinese Basketball Association). During successful career Raca Dragan wan on the bench of Cypriot and Greek teams like AEL Limassol, Iraklis Thessaloniki, Deltalcon APOEL Nicosia, AEP Olimpias Patron, in Beirut Al Hekmeh and now in China.
One of the new teams in the Chinese summer league known as the NBL has signed long time NBA veteran Craig Smith, the skilled power forward who played with the Clippers, Minnesota, and most Portland.
