Wang Zhelin fouled out with 1:45 left in the game allowing Korea to rally and tie the game in regulation. But China still won in overtime with Zhou Qi at center.
Cheon Gibeon had 21 points and 5 rebounds for Korea. 206 cm Lee Jonghyun had 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Kang Sangjae had 16 points and 8 rebounds. Choi Jungyon had 15 points and 8 rebounds, Choi Seongmo had 15 points and 4 rebounds.
Korea outrebounded China 43-41. China had 16 turnovers to 14 for Korea. China shot 52 percent of its field goals to 38 percent for Korea. Korea hit 79 percent from the foul line to 63 percent for China.
China finished first in its group with a 5-0 record. Korea was second at 4-1.
Iran was shocked 78-77 in overtime by Chinese Taipei but still won its group on tie-breakers as Iran, Chinese Taipei and the Philippines all finished with 4-1 records.
China will face Saudi Arabia Friday in the quarterfinals and quite possibly will have a rematch with Korea in the finals.
