China has named the 12 members of the Olympic team. Players may be replaced if they are injured in the next couple of weeks but this is the team that China hopes to use.
Han Dejun and Zhai Xiaochuan clearly failed to make the team and have not played recently. Zhang Bo, Wamg Zhelin and Su Wei just missed out and could be added if a team member is injured. Su lost to Zhang ZhaoXu because Zhang is a much better offensive player. China will use Jianlian Yi at center behind Wang ZhiZhi as well as Zhang. Su is too limited in offense and Wang Zhelin, at age 18, is not yet strong enough to face top European competition. He would not learn much sitting at the end of the bench. Zhang Bo has been hurt and lost out to Sun Yue, Yi Li and Zhao Peng who are better at his position. Guo Ailun made the team because he can, at present, be a backup at both shooting guard and point guard.

China will now take on Japan in the semis. Mongolia will face Taiwan in the clash for the fifth overall position at the tournament and the ticket to the Fiba Asia Championship.

China went on a 30:9 rally in the third term to leave Mongolia behind. Six players scored in double digits for China as they cruised to the second straight win at the tournament. Guo Ailun (192-SF-93) netted 21 points for the winning team. Yanyuhang Ding (200-F-93) contributed 15 points, while Meng Da (196-F/G-82) added 14 points for China. Deigernyam Davaasambuu responded with 12 points for Mongolia. Battur Ganbold (185-F-87) chipped in 9 points in the loss.

Raca is the only Serbian/Cypriot Head Coach next season to coach in CBA (Chinese Basketball Association). During successful career Raca Dragan wan on the bench of Cypriot and Greek teams like AEL Limassol, Iraklis Thessaloniki, Deltalcon APOEL Nicosia, AEP Olimpias Patron, in Beirut Al Hekmeh and now in China.
