Peter Ramos
26-year old center Peter John Ramos (222-C-85) put on an amazing game in the last round for Guangsha L. and receives a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 13.
He had a double-double of 34 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Shanxi Zh. (#8, 6-5) 126-112. Guangsha L. maintains the 3rd position in Chinese league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Guangsha L. will need more victories to improve their 8-4 record. Ramos turned to be Guangsha L.'s top player in his first season with the team. Ramos has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 13.4rpg) and averages solid 1.6bpg and 61.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was J.R. Smith (198-G-85) of Zhejiang C.. He is American guard in his first season at Zhejiang C.. In the last game Smith recorded impressive 38 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Zhejiang C. cruised to a 103-96 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Foshan (#15, 3-9). Zhejiang C.'s 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Smith is a newcomer at Zhejiang C. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 34.5ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 7.5rpg and 3.5apg.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Shavlik Randolph (208-F-83) of DongGuan L. (#6). Randolph got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for ten rebounds . Despite Randolph's great performance DongGuan L. lost 104-128 to the higher-ranked Guandong ST (#2, 10-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing DongGuan L. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 7 victories and 6 lost games. Randolph has a great season in China. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.7rpg (7th best). He also has 1.7bpg and and 3PT: 42.2%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Marcus Williams (201-F/G-86) of Shanxi Zh. - 36 points and 4 rebounds
5. Will McDonald (211-C-79) of Fujian XX - 39 points and 11 rebounds
6. Aaron Brooks (183-PG-85) of Guandong ST - 27 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists
7. Olumide Oyedeji (208-C/F-81) of Qingdao DS - 22 points, 17 rebounds and 2 assists
8. James Singleton (203-F-81) of Guandong ST - 24 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Mike Harris (198-F-83) of Shanghai S. - 24 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Randolph Morris (211-F/C-86) of Beijing Ducks - 30 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (CBA) strengthened their roster with addition of 26-year old American guard Lorenzo Brown (196-86kg-90, college: North Carolina State). He played most recently at Detroit Pistons in the NBA. Brown also played that season for another team Drive in U.S. semi-pro league D-League where in 25 games he recorded very impressive stats: 18.3ppg, 5.5rpg, 5.8apg and 2.1spg last season. Jones' 45-point game gives him Player of the Week award - 2 days ago

28-year old guard Dominique Jones (193-G-88) had a great game in the last round for Qingdao E. and receives a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 14. He had the game-high 45 points adding nine rebounds and six assists for Qingdao E. in his team's victory, helping them to beat Fujian QB (#17, 3-11) 108-101.
