On Saturday December 6th the Olympic Stadium Indoor Arena on Phnom Penh hosted the Finals of the Angkor Beer Cambodian Basketball League.

Davies Paints had to play the game without forward Nigel Doughan (183-C-75), who broke 2 ribs after a motorbike accident during the week.

Pate 310 started the 1st quarter furiously, setting a high pace that totally took Davies Paints by surprise. Tour Sok (180-C-87) was unstoppable on fast breaks and Ran Kim (183-C-80) managed to shut Aimar Sabayo (188-C-87) (188-C-87) down to only 2 points in the 1st quarter. The man on man defense set by Pate, was totally successful and by the end of the 1st quarter Pate 310 was leading 10:22.

In the 2nd quarter, Peng Kuy Taing (175-G-84) (form behind the arc) and Ran Kim under the rim continued to put the pressure on Davies Paints. But at the end of the quarter, the Pate players started to get tired. No surprise, given the high tempo they were playing so far. John Cornito and Victoriaro De Luna managed to close the gap with mid-range shots. Score at the end of the 2nd quarter was 28:34.

In the 3rd quarter, Aimar Sabayo started to get more opportunities to score from under the rim, but Pate 310's defense managed to control Janno Cunanan (183-F-88) who didn't score a single point. Phanat Ouch (168-PG-81) and Chen Dyna did the work in offense for Pate, to keep it tied in the quarter. Score at the end of the 3rd quarter was 40:46.

In the last quarter, coach Chris Borja switched his team to a full court press, which created steals for Davies Paints. Tayyaba Adam (173-PG-85) struggled to get the ball into the opposite half and this allowed Davies Paints to tie the score. However Chen Dyna and Ran Kim managed to put Pate 310 back in front. Janno Cunanan managed to cut the lead to a 2 points gap (54:56). But on his next attempt driving to the basket he missed, giving Pate 310 the win and the Championship. Final score: Davies Paints 54:56 Pate 310.
The key to win for Pate was to control Cunanan and Sabayo in offense, which they did perfectly.

Pate 310 becomes the Angkor Beer CBL Champions 2014, while the Davies Paints loose their crown from 2013.

Results by quarter: 10:22-18:12-12:12-14:10.
