Laos opened win count at the 2015 SEABA Championship. They knocked down Brunei for 1-2 record. Siphandone Lothalath came up with 35 points to pace the winners. Laos eked out a 24:17 lead after the opening frame. Brunei narrowed the gap in the second frame. They pulled within 4 points at the interval. But Laos stiffened defensively in the second half. They held Brunei to 28 points in the second part of the game and snatched a tough victory at the end. Thavatsay Phongphoumy provided 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Khonesavanh Lattana added 10 points in the victory. Chin Kai Khoo responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds for Brunei. Zainul Ashyraf (196-C-87) accounted for 17 points and 21 rebounds in the loss.

EIGHT teams are competing for the Asli-KTM Cup at the New Village Basketball Court in Seria. Organised by the Belait District Basketball Association (BDBA), the week-long tournament's opening ceremony was officiated by YB Haji Abdul Hamid bin Haji Mumin, a Legislative Council member and Penghulu of Mukim Liang. The participating teams are Wolves, 10pm, Honeycarsmart, JNL Hokage, NV, Primatel, Halif & Son, and Genji/CBE. Teams will compete in two groups consisting of four teams, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the final. The tournament is being held in conjunction with the 34th National Day celebration, as well as to help promote healthy lifestyle, the game of basketball and players' skills. THE Brunei Inter-District U-23 Basketball Tournament, 'RYS Cup', was launched during a ceremony at the Kampong Baru Basketball Court, Seria on March 12. The event, organised by the Belait District Association in collaboration with the Brunei Basketball Association (BBA), was aimed at promoting interest in basketball among residents, particularly youths. It also sought to showcase the talents of players. The six teams registered for the tournament included Funzania and 511 from the Brunei-Muara District, Primatel from Temburong District, EasyWay from Tutong District, Taiwan Ba Chang from Seria, and Howie Contractor from Kuala Belait. Ang Han Then, Deputy Chairman of the BBA and Ciara Chang, RYS Marketing Lead, officiated the opening ceremony. Players pledged an oath to maintain sportsmanship during the tournament.
