Malaysia opened the 2015 SEABA Championship with victory. They knocked down Brunei at the start of the tournament. Ivan Yeo (193-F-93) posted 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners.
Malaysia surged ahead for a 25:4 lead at the first break. Malaysia piled up a 45:22 halftime lead. The gap grew at 35-point mark at the final break and Malaysia never looked back en route to the victory. Eng Heng Soo (182-G-84) chipped in 13 points, while Chee Kheun Ma (180-G-90) netted 11 points in the win. Chong Pei Ching replied with 14 points for Brunei. Zainul Hussin had 11 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.
