Regular Season Round 4: Liders - Beirut Club 56-96

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Liders (1-2) were crushed at home by top-ranked Beirut Club (3-0) 96-56 on Thursday. Beirut Club dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Liders' 30. They outrebounded Liders 57-37 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Beirut Club looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Georgian guard Michael Dixon (186-1990, college: Memphis) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 assists and American forward Kenneth Horton (201-1989, college: CCSU, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Beirut Club players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Nicholas Evans (210-1988, college: S.Indiana) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import Robert Hobson (197-1996, college: JWU, NC, agency: Interperformances) scored 14 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Beirut Club have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Liders keep the sixth place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.
