Regular Season Round 4: Saitama - Yamaguchi 105-75

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Yamaguchi (2-3) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Saitama (4-1) 105-75 on Saturday. Saitama shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 53.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Yamaguchi's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American Grant Sitton (206-1993, college: Victoria) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Ryan Watkins (206-1991, college: Boise St., agency: Slash Sports) who added 12 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Jamaican-British center Ryan Richards (212-1991) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Haitian-American forward Jeff Coby (203-1994, college: Columbia, agency: Interperformances) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Yamaguchi players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Saitama moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Yamaguchi dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with Toyoda and Tokyo Utd. Saitama will again meet at home Yamaguchi (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Yamaguchi will have a break next round.
