SBL top team - Al Ahly (7-0) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat ninth ranked Duba Club (2-5) in Jeddah 85-70. Strangely Duba Club outrebounded Al Ahly 50-34 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. The former international Ali Shubayli (190-1996) fired 24 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Devin Ebanks (206-1989, college: WVU) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Al Ahly players scored in double figures. Al Ahly's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Unique McLean (188, college: SFC, agency: Blacktop Management) produced a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and Ukrainian center Vladyslav Koreniuk (210-1994, agency: BIG) added 14 points and 19 rebounds respectively for lost side. Al Ahly have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Duba Club lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Al Salam and Al Adalh. Al Ahly will meet league's second-placed Al Nasr in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Duba Club will play against Al Salam (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
