Regular Season Round 2: Guangzhou LL - Sichuan BW 106-98

There was a minor upset when Blue Whales lost to Long-Lions in Guangzhou 98-106 on Friday. Long-Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Blue Whales' 26. Long-Lions forced 20 Blue Whales turnovers. Taiwanese point guard Ying-Chun Chen (182-1993, college: Liberty) notched 31 points, 8 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and center Boqiao Jiao (209-2001) supported him with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Even 27 points and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by the former international point guard Shuo Han (197-1986) did not help to save the game for Blue Whales. American point guard Marlain Veal (175-1996, college: SE Louisiana) added 10 points and 10 assists for the guests. Four Long-Lions and five Blue Whales players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Long-Lions will meet Loongs in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Blue Whales will play against Ducks in Beijing and hope to win that game.
