Everything could happen in Al-Awamiyah at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Al Salam and 12th ranked Al-Taawon had identical 1-5 record. This time Al Salam used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from 82-77 on Friday night. American forward Nick Stover (198-1993, college: USA) fired a double-double by scoring 32 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. His fellow American import center Anthony McClain (211-1988, college: Cincinnati) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Stover is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Darious Clark (193-1990, college: Slippery Rock, agency: Domantay Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and Serbian power forward Aleksandar Marelja (207-1992, agency: BeoBasket) added 21 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Salam (2-5) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Duba Club and Al Adalh. Al-Taawon lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with Al Ansar. Al Salam will meet Duba Club (#10) in the next round. Al-Taawon will play against Al Hilal and hope to win that game.
