Regular Season Round 6: Al Taawoun - Al Ahli 82-88

Undefeated leader Al Ahly delivered the sixth consecutive victory. This time they beat 11th ranked Al-Taawon (1-5) 88-82. Al Ahly made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American forward Devin Ebanks (206-1989, college: WVU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. The former international Ali Shubayli (190-1996) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Al Ahly's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian power forward Aleksandar Marelja (207-1992, agency: BeoBasket) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Darious Clark (193-1990, college: Slippery Rock, agency: Domantay Sports) added 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Al-Taawon. Four Al-Taawon players scored in double figures. Al Ahly (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Al-Taawon lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom place with five games lost. They share the position with Al Ansar and Al Salam. Al Ahly will play against Duba Club (#9) in Tabuk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al-Taawon will play on the road against Al Salam in Al-Awamiyah and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
