Regular Season Round 7: SWU - Hitech 64-119

There was no surprise when 5th ranked SWU (3-4) was crushed at home by third ranked Hitech (6-1) 119-64 on Saturday. Hitech dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to SWU's 42. They outrebounded SWU 68-30 including a 28-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Hitech looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by SWU's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hitech made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for Patiphan Klahan who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international Nakorn Jaisanuk (188-1991) helped adding 26 points. Hitech's coach Manid Niyomyindee felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Thanasit Moonwong responded with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Chatchon Kamchoo (176) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hitech. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Bangkok Tigers. Loser SWU keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Dunkin' Raptors and Thunders. Hitech will meet at home Shoot it Dragon (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SWU will play against Mad Goat (#8) in Nakorn Phantom and hope to secure a win.
