Date: July 6, 2022
There was a small surprise when seventh ranked SWU (3-3) smashed at home 5th ranked Thunders (3-3) 92-54 on Wednesday. SWU forced 21 Thunders turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Zimbabwean center John Kabwe (195-1984) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Swingman Pongsatorn Tabtim (187-1998) chipped in 19 points. Four SWU players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Chiedoziem Okafor who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and Kittitep Lane Dasom added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SWU moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Dunkin' Raptors and Thunders. SWU will meet at home higher ranked Hitech (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Thunders will play against the league's leader Devil Rays and hope to secure a win.
