Regular Season Round 10: SM Beermen - North Port 122-106

Very expected game when 8th ranked North Port (2-5) lost to third ranked SM Beermen (6-1) in Manila 106-122 on Saturday. SM Beermen looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a very good performance for guard Jaymar Perez (188-1993) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists. Center June Mar Fajardo (210-1989) contributed with 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Arwind Santos (193-1981) replied with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks and point guard Shej Roi Sumang (177-1991) added 20 points and 6 assists in the effort for North Port. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SM Beermen have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. North Port lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with FiberXers and Phoenix. SM Beermen are looking forward to face league's leader TNT Tropang in Makati in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. North Port will have a break next round.
