Regular Season Round 4: Hotshots - North Port 80-77

Round 4 most important game was a defeat of league's leader North Port (2-1). They were edged by tenth ranked Hotshots (1-2) 80-77 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of North Port. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American forward Calvin Abueva (190-1988) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Jiovani Jalalon (175-1992) who added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side forward Arwind Santos (193-1981) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and forward Jamie Malonzo produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four North Port players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hotshots left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Rain or Shine. North Port at the other side dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. They share it with NLEX RW. They were replaced at the leadership position by Ginebra Kings. North Port will play next round against Blackwater Elite trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Hotshots will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked SM Beermen in Manila.
