Regular Season Round 61: Ibaraki R. - Gunma CT 93-82

There was a minor upset in Mito where 7th ranked Gunma CT (23-29) was defeated by tenth ranked Ibaraki R. (16-36) 93-82 on Saturday. Ibaraki R. made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. American Eric Jacobsen (208-1994, college: Arizona St.) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. His fellow American import forward Chehales Tapscott (195-1990, college: Portland St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-1981, college: Evergreen St.) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Czech center Ondrej Balvin (217-1992, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for lost side. Four Ibaraki R. and five Gunma CT players scored in double figures. Gunma CT's coach Thomas Wisman tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Ibaraki R. maintains tenth place with 16-36 record. Gunma CT at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh position with 29 games lost. Ibaraki R. will again meet at home higher ranked Gunma CT (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gunma CT will have a break next round.
