There was no surprise when 5th ranked Yamagata (18-33) was crushed at home by first ranked FE Nagoya (42-8) 88-69 on Friday. FE Nagoya outrebounded Yamagata 40-26 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Scootie Randall (198-1990, college: Temple) scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Takuya Soma (181-1991) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five FE Nagoya players scored in double figures.
