B3 League top team - Nagasaki (42-4) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Iwate (27-20) 89-58. Strangely Iwate outrebounded Nagasaki 40-28 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) fired 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Kenjileon Matsumoto (183-1994) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Four Nagasaki players scored in double figures. American forward Terrance King (198-1990, college: ESU) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import Kyle Richardson (200-1991, college: Portland St.) added 10 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nagasaki have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains first place with 42-4 record. Loser Iwate keeps the seventh position with 20 games lost. Nagasaki will meet at home Gifu (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Iwate will have a break next round.
