Regular Season Round 55: Shimane SM - San-en NP 92-81

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Shimane SM (36-11) beat at home 11th ranked San-en NP (10-40) 92-81 on Wednesday. Shimane SM dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to San-en NP's 40. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. American forward Perrin Buford (198-1994, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points, 9 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Nyika Williams (203-1987, college: Pacific) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Five Shimane SM players scored in double figures. Nigerian power forward Peter Okoye (208-2001, agency: Domantay Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and German center Elias Harris (203-1989, college: Gonzaga, agency: BeoBasket) added 10 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shimane SM maintains second place with 36-11 record having just one point less than leader Ryukyu GK. Loser San-en NP keeps the eleventh position with 40 games lost. Shimane SM will meet league's leader Ryukyu GK in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. San-en NP will play against Nagoya DD (#3) and hope to secure a win.
