Regular Season Round 54: Toyama G. - Tochigi Brex 63-89

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Toyama G. (20-31) was outleveled at home by third ranked Tochigi Brex (34-14) 89-63 on Sunday. Tochigi Brex looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American power forward Josh Scott (208-1993, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) notched 21 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) to lead the effort and guard Seiji Ikaruga (185-1994) supported him with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Even a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds by American forward Brice Johnson (206-1994, college: UNC) did not help to save the game for Toyama G.. The former international forward Naoki Uto (188-1991) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tochigi Brex maintains third position with 34-14 record having just one point less than leader Ryukyu GK. Loser Toyama G. keeps the eighth place with 31 games lost. Tochigi Brex will meet at home league's second-placed Kawasaki BT in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyama G. will play against Shiga L-Stars (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
