Very significant was Taiyuan Textile's (#2, 9-5) victory against 3rd placed Chunghwa Telecom (4-10) 75-64. They outrebounded Chunghwa Telecom 43-24 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for international center Tieh Lin (182-1999) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 21 rebounds. The former international forward Ching Cho (172-1997) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. The former international guard Hui-Ju Liu (163-1996) came up with 12 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Yushu Lin (168-1996) added 13 points respectively for Chunghwa Telecom in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Taiyuan Textile maintains second place with 9-5 record having four points less than leader Cathay Life. Chunghwa Telecom at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. Taiyuan Textile will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chunghwa Telecom will play again against the league's second-placed Taiyuan Textile and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
