Regular Season Round 52: Nagasaki - Aisin AW 95-80

Leader Nagasaki delivered the 39th win on Saturday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Aisin AW (29-16) 95-80. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Aisin AW. Nagasaki forced 21 Aisin AW turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Aisin AW helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-1980, college: Otterbein) chipped in 15 points. Center Nigel Spikes (208-1989, college: Marshall) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds and Marcus Dove (206-1985, college: OK State) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Nagasaki and four Aisin AW players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains first position with 39-4 record. Aisin AW at the other side keeps the fifth place with 16 games lost. Nagasaki are again looking forward to face Aisin AW (#5) in Aichi in the next round. Aisin AW will have a break next round.
