Anyang KGC rallied past KoGas in the opener. Anyang KGC outrebounded KoGas 45-29 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by KoGas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward Darryl Monroe (202-1986, college: GMU) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Seonggon Moon (193-1993) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-1989, college: St.Bonaventure) produced 24 points and 6 rebounds and international guard Nakhyeon Kim (180-1995) added 10 points and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
