Regular Season Round 51: Chiba Jets - Hokkaido L. 97-74

Very expected game when 9th ranked Hokkaido L. (15-30) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Chiba Jets (28-7) 97-74 on Saturday. Chiba Jets shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Christopher Smith (193-1994, college: Utah St.) who led the winners and scored 29 points. The former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-1993) accounted for 23 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. American forward Shawn Long (208-1993, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with 28 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import DeMon Brooks (202-1992, college: Davidson) added 14 points respectively for Hokkaido L. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Chiba Jets. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 28-7 record. Hokkaido L. lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 30 games lost. Chiba Jets will again meet at home Hokkaido L. (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Hokkaido L. will have a break next round.
