Ginebra Kings overcame Meralco Bolts to even the Governor's Cup Finals at 1-1. Ginebra Kings made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Ginebra Kings had a 36-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Justin Brownlee (197-1988, college: St.John's) had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Scottie Thompson (188-1993) chipped in 16 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Ginebra Kings players scored in double figures. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-1989, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Aaron Black scored 24 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
