Top ranked Bank of Taiwan (18-6) recorded its sixth loss against third ranked Yulon Luxgen on Sunday night. Yulon Luxgen were defeated by third ranked Yulon Luxgen (12-11) 90-86. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Bank of Taiwan. Yulon Luxgen shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American power forward Torren Jones (206-1994, college: William Penn) fired a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Guan-Xuan Lu (182-1995) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. American swingman Zak Irvin (198-1994, college: Michigan) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists and guard Jiahe Zhang (188-1996) added 20 points respectively for lost side. Five Bank of Taiwan players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Yulon Luxgen have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 12-11 record having seven points less than leader Bank of Taiwan. Bank of Taiwan at the other side still keeps top place with six games lost. They share the position with Taiwan Beer. Yulon Luxgen are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Pauian (#5) in the next round. Bank of Taiwan will play against Jeoutai (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
