Regular Season Round 49: Kanazawa - Okayama 63-93
Date: April 3, 2022
Very expected game in Ishikawa where 15th ranked Kanazawa (1-41) was rolled over by seventh ranked Okayama (24-11) 93-63 on Sunday. Okayama dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Kanazawa's 26. They outrebounded Kanazawa 40-20 including a 32-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Chris Olivier (202-1992, college: OK State, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up and scored 30 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-1985, college: FAU) chipped in 15 points and 13 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Blake Aoki (202-1993) responded with 11 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Yugo Okuda (176-1999) scored 5 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Okayama. They maintain seventh place with 24-11 record. Kanazawa lost their eleventh game in a row. They stay dead last with 41 lost games. Okayama will meet Yamaguchi (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Kanazawa will play against Aisin AW in Aichi and hope to win that game.
