Regular Season Round 48: Niigata A. - Tochigi Brex 72-89

Very expected game when 11th ranked Niigata A. (5-37) lost at home to second ranked Tochigi Brex (31-13) 89-72. Tochigi Brex made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Niigata A. was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-1990) who helped to win the game recording 18 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and Tongan-New Zealand Isaac Fotu (203-1993, college: Hawaii) who added 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-1993, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and Filipino guard Kobe Paras (198-1997, college: CSUN) scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tochigi Brex have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 31-13 record behind leader Ryukyu GK. Niigata A. lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 37 games lost. Tochigi Brex will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Niigata A. will play again at home against the league's second-placed Tochigi Brex (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
