Regular Season Round 51: Koshigaya A. - Fukushima 81-90

The game between Top Four teams took place in Tokyo. 4th placed host Koshigaya A. (20-19) lost to third ranked Fukushima (29-14) 90-81. Fukushima looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. It was a great evening for Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-1990, college: Florida) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Finnish forward Alex Murphy (206-1993, college: Northeastern) helped adding 18 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American center Isaac Butts (208-1989, college: App State) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import Craig Brackins (208-1987, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fukushima maintains third place with 29-14 record having four points less than leader Kumamoto V. Koshigaya A. at the other side keeps the fourth position with 19 games lost. Fukushima will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Koshigaya A. will play again at home against Fukushima (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
