Regular Season Round 47: Yamaguchi - Chiba 79-101
Date: March 26, 2022
Very predictable result when third ranked Chiba (28-4) rolled over on the road 12th ranked Yamaguchi (11-30) 101-79. Chiba made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward Evan Ravenel (204-1989, college: Ohio St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Robert Dozier (206-1985, college: Memphis) helped adding 19 points and 8 rebounds. Four Chiba players scored in double figures. American forward Robert Sampson (203-1992, college: Georgia Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks and Hayate Yamashita (193-1992) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Chiba. Newly promoted Chiba maintains third place with 28-4 record having eleven points less than leader Nagasaki. Yamaguchi lost their tenth game in a row. Yamaguchi at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with 30 games lost. Chiba will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yamaguchi will play again at home against Chiba (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
