The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Bank of Taiwan as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Bank of Taiwan defeated their close opponent Taiwan Beer in Taipei 88-71. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Bank of Taiwan forced 19 Taiwan Beer turnovers. Strangely Taiwan Beer outrebounded Bank of Taiwan 42-30 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-1997, college: NSU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import swingman Zak Irvin (198-1994, college: Michigan) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Bank of Taiwan players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Canadian power forward Keanau Post (210-1992, college: Missouri) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bank of Taiwan (16-5) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Taiwan Beer at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost. Taiwan Beer will play next round against Pauian trying to get back on the winning streak. Bank of Taiwan will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Yulon Luxgen at home.
