Second Stage Round 6: Orthodox - Al Wihdat 70-61

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Al Wihdat (12-4) in Amman on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Orthodox (12-4) 70-61. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Orthodox looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for the former international forward Zaid Abbas (203-1983) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 19 rebounds. Senegalese forward Ibrahima Thomas (213-1987, college: Cincinnati, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Orthodox players scored in double figures. American point guard Anthony Miles (184-1989, college: Lamar) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international forward Zane Najdawi (201-1996, college: Citadel) added 7 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Al Wihdat. Orthodox used an opportunity after Al Wihdat lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position which they share with defeated Al Wihdat.
