Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tokyo: Koshigaya A. (#4) and Tokyo Z (#6). Tokyo Z was defeated at home 83-90 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tokyo Z. They outrebounded Tokyo Z 49-33 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Koshigaya A. players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. American center Isaac Butts (208-1989, college: App State) had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 21 rebounds and 6 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Craig Brackins (208-1987, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Koshigaya A.'s coach Sho Higashijima allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American-Haitian forward Marc-Eddy Norelia (203-1993, college: FGCU, agency: Duran International) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Pat Andree (203-1997, college: NC State) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Koshigaya A. maintains fourth position with 20-18 record. Tokyo Z at the other side keeps the sixth place with 36 games lost. Koshigaya A. will play against higher ranked Fukushima (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Tokyo Z will play against the league's leader FE Nagoya and hopes to get back on the winning track.
