Rather expected game when 5th ranked Pauian (1-16) was smashed by second ranked Bank of Taiwan (14-5) 80-52 on Saturday. Bank of Taiwan dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Pauian's 24. Bank of Taiwan forced 30 Pauian turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-1997, college: NSU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and the other American import swingman Zak Irvin (198-1994, college: Michigan) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Even 22 points and 8 rebounds by American guard Dashaun Wiggins (188-1991, college: Portland St.) did not help to save the game for Pauian. Guard Deen Zhao (184-1995) added 9 points for Bank of Taiwan. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bank of Taiwan have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-5 record behind leader Taiwan Beer. Pauian lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Bank of Taiwan will meet league's leader Taiwan Beer in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pauian will play against Yulon Luxgen (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
