Leader Nagasaki delivered the 33th victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 14th ranked Shinagawa (4-36) 119-71. Nagasaki dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Shinagawa's 30 and made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Nagasaki forced 22 Shinagawa turnovers and outrebounded them 41-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Shinagawa's players. American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) had a triple-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 17 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Dickson Tariki (181-1998) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Five Nagasaki players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center C.J. Gettys (213-1994, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Kunitatsu Ogata (179-1997) scored 15 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nagasaki (33-3) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains first position. Shinagawa at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth place with 36 games lost. Nagasaki will meet at home bottom-ranked Kanazawa (#15) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Shinagawa will play against Yokohama EX in Tokyo and hope to secure a win.
