Everything could happen in Jakarta at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Hangtuah and 6th ranked Bali Utd. had identical 7-8 record. This time Hangtuah used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Denpasar 65-57 on Friday night. Hangtuah outrebounded Bali Utd. 41-24 including 30 on the defensive glass. American LaQuavius Cotton (198-1992, college: Delta St.) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import center Anton Waters (200-1993, college: WKU) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Hangtuah players scored in double figures. American William Green (196-1991, college: Stetson) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Joseph Desmet (176-1997) scored 9 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hangtuah (8-8) moved-up to second place, which they share with WBS. Bali Utd. lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with nine games lost. They share it with Pacific Caesar and Bumi Borneo. Hangtuah will meet at home Evos Bogor (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Bali Utd. will play against the league's leader Pelita Jaya (#1) in Jakarta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
