Regular Season Round 13: Satria Muda - Tangerang 88-55
Date: March 16, 2022
Not a big story in a game in Jakarta where 8th ranked Tangerang (3-12) was rolled over by first ranked Satria Muda (11-3) 88-55 on Wednesday. Satria Muda dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Tangerang's 22 and made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Tangerang 52-32 including a 39-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Satria Muda looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Tangerang's players. American forward Elijah Foster (203-1996, college: Nevada) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. The former international Avan Seputra (189-1994) chipped in 16 points. Foster is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. American Richard Ross (198-1992, college: ODU) produced 14 points and 9 rebounds and Tevanti Crump added 10 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Satria Muda. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-3 record, which they share with Prawira. Loser Tangerang dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Bima Perkasa. Satria Muda's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Jakarta to the arena WBS.
