An exciting game was when First ranked Cathay Life faced 4th ranked Chunghwa Telecom. Cathay Life (8-1) smashed Chunghwa Telecom (2-7) 76-35. Cathay Life dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Chunghwa Telecom's 24. Cathay Life forced 20 Chunghwa Telecom turnovers and outrebounded them 46-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Chunghwa Telecom's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Yu-Ting Lin (179-1994) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 assists. International forward Ya-En Han (180-1995) contributed with 8 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard You-Yiwen Wang (175-1996) replied with 6 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Hui-Ju Liu (163-1996) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Chunghwa Telecom. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cathay Life have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-1 record. Chunghwa Telecom at the other side dropped to the third place with seven games lost. Cathay Life will play against league's second-placed Taiyuan Textile in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chunghwa Telecom will play against Taipower and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
