Regular Season Round 17: Tainan GH - Taoyuan L. 84-97

The biggest surprise of round 17 in T1 League was guest Leopards' (4-13) road victory over 5th ranked GhostHawks (3-14) 97-84 on Sunday evening. Leopards dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to GhostHawks' 24. They outrebounded GhostHawks 52-39 including 41 on the defensive glass. Leopards looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Leopards made 11 blocks. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was point guard John Gillon (183-1994, college: Syracuse) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Deyonta Davis (208-1996, college: Michigan St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 6 blocks. Forward Quinton Doggett (206-1990, college: Southern, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and guard Jordan Chatman (196-1993, college: Boston Coll.) added 22 points respectively for Leopards. Five Leopards and four GhostHawks players scored in double figures. Leopards moved-up to fifth place. GhostHawks at the other side dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. Leopards are looking forward to face league's leader Aquas in Kaohsiung in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. GhostHawks will play on the road against TB Herobears (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
