The game in Yamagata was also quite interesting. Third ranked Kagawa FA (26-15) played at the court of 5th ranked Yamagata (18-24). Kagawa FA did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 102-84 on Sunday. Kagawa FA made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game, while Yamagata only scored four points from the stripe. Kagawa FA looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-1987, college: Georgia) who led the winners and scored 31 points and 5 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). Australian forward Rhys Vague (206-1996) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Jawad Williams (204-1983, college: UNC) added 20 points respectively for Yamagata in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kagawa FA moved-up to second place, which they share with Kumamoto V. Yamagata lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 24 games lost. Kagawa FA will meet at home Saga B. (#4) in the next round. Yamagata will play against Ehime OV in Matsuyama and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
