Regular Season Round 38: Goyang Orions - KT Sonicboom 72-87

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Goyang Orions (21-24) lost to third ranked KT Sonicboom (27-15) in Daegu 72-87 on Saturday. KT Sonicboom dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Goyang Orions' 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Goyang Orions' players. Haitian center Cady Lalanne (208-1992, college: UMass, agency: BeoBasket) notched 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international guard Hoon Heo (181-1995) supported him with 14 points and 7 assists. Four KT Sonicboom players scored in double figures. Even 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by American forward Murphy Holloway (201-1990, college: Ole Miss, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Goyang Orions. The former international Lee Jung-Hyun (190-1999) added 15 points for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KT Sonicboom maintains third position with 27-15 record having thirteen points less than leader SK Knights. Loser Goyang Orions keep the fifth place with 24 games lost. KT Sonicboom will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Goyang Orions will play against the league's leader SK Knights (#1) in Seoul and hope to secure a win.
