Second Stage Round 11: Foolad - Zob Ahan 61-84

An interesting game for Zob Ahan (18-2) which played road game in Tehran against second-ranked Foolad (8-12). First ranked Zob Ahan had an easy win 84-61. Zob Ahan dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Foolad's 24. They outrebounded Foolad 44-31 including 36 on the defensive glass. Zob Ahan players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a great evening for the former international Arsalan Kazemi (200-1990, college: Oregon, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. The former international point guard Farid Aslani (183-1988) helped adding 19 points and 9 assists. Four Zob Ahan players scored in double figures. American point guard Ali Mousavi (183) responded with 8 points and 6 rebounds and Amirhosein Mojiri scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zob Ahan have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-2 record, which they share with Chemidor. Newly promoted Foolad keeps the second position with 12 games lost.
