Regular Season Round 38: Nanjing TX MK - Qingdao E. 98-119
Date: March 12, 2022
Rather predictable result in Jiangsu where sixteenth ranked Eagles (11-23) outscored bottom-ranked Monkey Kings (2-32) 119-98 on Saturday. Eagles forced 20 Monkey Kings turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists. American power forward Dakari Johnson (213-1995, college: Kentucky) had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Dezmine Wells (196-1992, college: Maryland) chipped in 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) during the contest. The former international point guard Tal Co (191-1991) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 assists and the former international point guard Zirui Wang (189-1993) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Five Eagles and four Monkey Kings players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Eagles moved-up to fifteenth place. Monkey Kings lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 32 lost games. Eagles will meet league's second-placed Guangsha Lions in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Monkey Kings will have a break next round.
