No shocking result in a game in Saporro where fifth ranked Shinshu BW (19-19) defeated 9th ranked Hokkaido L. (12-22) 103-94 on Wednesday. Shinshu BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international guard Yuta Okada (189-1998) stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!) and 6 assists for the winners and swingman Reo Maeda (191-1997) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Shinshu BW's coach Michael Katsuhisa used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Shawn Long (208-1993, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 44 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 6 assists (on 19-of-24 shooting from the field) and the other American import DeMon Brooks (202-1992, college: Davidson) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Shinshu BW maintains fifth place with 19-19 record. Hokkaido L. lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 22 games lost. Shinshu BW will meet at home San-en NP (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hokkaido L. will play against Chiba Jets and hope to secure a win.
