Second Stage Round 1: Orthodox - Al Jubaiha 115-64

An interesting game for Orthodox (10-1) which hosted in Amman 4th placed Al Jubaiha (3-8). First ranked Orthodox had an easy win 115-64. Orthodox forced 25 Al Jubaiha turnovers and outrebounded them 55-38 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Al Jubaiha's players. It was a great evening for Senegalese forward Ibrahima Thomas (213-1987, college: Cincinnati, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. International guard Amin Abuhawwas (190-1994, college: Mars Hill) helped adding 24 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Abuhawwas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Orthodox players scored in double figures. American power forward Gregoryshon Magee (211-1990, college: USA) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and the former international Khaled Abuaboud (202-1997) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Orthodox have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. Al Jubaiha at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Orthodox's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Amman to the arena Al Ahli.
