Second Stage Round 9: Sirjan - Chemidor 68-70

Second-ranked Sirjan (13-7) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Chemidor (18-2) on Sunday. The visitors from Tehran managed to secure only two-point victory 70-68. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sirjan. It was a good game for American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-1989, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 4 assists. Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (207-1987, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Montenegrin-Serbian forward Nikola Dragovic (206-1987, college: UCLA, agency: BeoBasket) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Russian guard Anton Ponkrashov (200-1986) added 12 points and 5 assists in the effort for Sirjan. Chemidor have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-2 record. Newly promoted Sirjan keeps the second position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
