Regular Season Round 8: Pelita Jaya - Prawira 49-69

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Pelita Jaya (7-1) in Jakarta on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by fourth ranked Prawira (8-3) 69-49. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Pelita Jaya. They outrebounded Pelita Jaya 44-22 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Chris Sterling (196-1993, college: ACU) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import center Taj Spencer (200-1993, college: CBU) who added 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Prawira's coach Andre Yuwadi used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International point guard Andakara Dhyaksa (173-1992) responded with 14 points and international Govinda Saputra (194-1996) scored 6 points. Prawira moved-up to second place, which they share with Dewa United. Pelita Jaya at the other side dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. Prawira is looking forward to face Rans Pik (#7) in the next round where they are favorite.
